The Red Panda: seeking asylum

This past Sunday, our family went to visit our relatives at the zoo (the animals). One oddity worth noting is that the cute and cuddly red panda is not anything like the traditional Chinese black and white inert pandas.

I was told by this red panda shown above; he stated in no uncertain terms  that the red pandas at the Washington National Zoo have formed a union, to separate from the Chinese Panda Nation, and become the Taiwan of pandas.

To wit, it has been proven (scientifically, of course) that red pandas have way more personality and eye contact than the Chinese inert pandas.

One could say that Chinese pandas might be mistaken for doorstops, or perhaps, for dead pandas.

The red panda is also a far better conversationalist. And not a communist, thank goodness. I understand they always vote Democratic, but who knows since it is a secret ballot?

You be the judge; go make your own comparisons. Pretty soon, you will be smuggling one home under your coat.

Your Impartial Zoo Observer,
Patsie
