Jerusalem
Jerusalem Old City
When the Romans invaded what is now Israel, they decreed that all buildings should be built of Limestone, which was both plentiful and beautiful. The city's architecture has an lovely unified ivory tone, and the material works well in the dry desert.

Kimball Art Museum: Where Michelangelo Meets Texas
The only Michaelangelo painting in the Western Hemisphere resides in Ft. Worth's Kimball Art Museum. Michaelangelo painted Saint Anthony being tormented by demons. It was painted in both tempera and oil and is in excellent condition. The Kimballs, of oil money, collected widely: High Italian Renaissance and ancient Asian pieces as well as a smattering of Post-Impressionists and Matisse. The collection includes a Picasso. Strictly high ticket art is in this stunning building designed by the famous architect Louis Kahn.

Ladew Topiary Gardens, Maryland
Nestled north of Towson, Maryland, in bucolic Monkton, Md., is the fabulous spread of gardens know as Ladew Topiary Gardens. Designed with garden rooms portraying themes, it was very forward- thinking for its day. Each room creates a vista from several angles: some from the home, and some from other gardens. It is a work of art. The owner loved the fox hunt and there is an especially skillful topiary of a horse jumping a fence, with topiary beagles and a rider.
