The Art Collection at the Vendue Inn in Charleston, South Carolina

The Vendue Inn in fabulous historic Charleston has its own art exhibition, its own art curator and docent-led tours of the shows.  And did I mention that the Vendue is perfectly located amidst the best restaurants?
The art collection is figurative work, yet cutting edge.
Enjoy!

The Inn at Little Washington

 Chilled Lobster Salad

Dear fellow foodies,
Heaven on a spoon! We were given a gift for the ages: our generous children blessed me with a birthday gift certificate for dinner at the Inn at Little Washington,  a total dream come true.
Such a beautiful setting with beautiful creative food... I loved the delicate flavors overlaying each other and marveled at the visual displays.
Meeting the chef in the kitchen made me totally starstruck. The whole experience was extraordinary. I am so happy that I went!

The National Cathedral of Washington: The Bishop's Garden

Nestled adjacent to the National Cathedral of Washington, DC, is a glorious urban garden. It has many ecclesiastical touches: stonework, statuary, etc. And what a collection of perrenials. The best time to visit is May or June. Admission is free.

New York Botanical Garden

Situated in the Bronx, near Fordham and the Bronx Zoo, is the sprawling Botanical Garden.  It includes a tram tour, an exhibit hall, an art gallery,  a conservatory for tropical pants and orchids, as well as native plants, fields of blooming daffodils and lush cherry trees in full bloom.
No hints of bustling city noises or views penetrate this oasis of calm.

Chelsea Art Galleries

I recently visited an art exhibit in the Chelsea gallery neighborhood of Manhattan. This particular exhibit  is called Foodist Temple. One must remove one's shoes to enter  the exhibit. The food art is way oversized, resplendent with gilded framing. I laughed and thoughly enjoyed the cleverness of the concept. I especially enjoyed the boxes of Bon bons.

Chelsea Market: beautiful food in a restored industrial site

Chelsea Market is a rewarding experience in Mew York City: a delicious meal at Giovanni Rana and some very
cool shopping. I love the old industrial setting, which is the former bakery of Nabisco cookies.
