Santorini, Greece

Santorini is the most freshly, painted, swept, and tidy of the Greek islands. Especially lovely is the town of Oia. Situated up on the lip of an ancient volcano, it has sweeping views of the caldera, the deepest and biggest of its kind. It is said that Plato, the great Greek philosopher, started the old tale of Atlantis, the lost continent, based on an island that sunk into the caldera forever submerged.
If there is a more photogenic place, I have not seen it.
