Paul Revere Pitcher with Apples

                                                 Paul Revere Pitcher and Apples

I painted this still life painting this Fall, and spent far more time than usual finessing the details. This oil painting was chosen for a juried show at The Art League, shortly after completion. Sometimes, it pays to slow down, park my impatience and work my eyes long and hard.

For sale. Inquire for the price on comments section.

Metropolis

I thought you might enjoy a glimpse of my new oil painting.       What makes this unusual is that I generally do not paint abstracts. However, it was much like a palette cleanser, after painting scores of realistic still lives. For your pleasure, an amuse bouche. "Metropolis" is a large abstract, with vibrant colors and a sense of activity, witnessed by its bright colors and brushstroke movement. It has the rhythm of the city.

LIttle Red Hen

I am at work, and this was my focus today: a little red hen, obviously free-range, taking in the scenery. This 8" x 8" oil on canvas is a simple composition of figure on ground. The shape of the negative space must compliment and not overwhelm the positive space.
This tiny panting is a winner, I think; it just needs a few touches after it dries.

Voila!

Dear imaginary friends,

This oil painting has undergone so many permutations! The lemons and pitcher were not in the original composition, moreover, the color scheme was green, purple and pink. I kept tweaking it, and finally decided that I would use a blue/ yellow scheme, reminiscent of the decor in the south of France. Et voila! Much improved.
Your imaginary friend,
Patsie
